Had a few questions on how to comment on a post. I'm going to try to do some cut and paste on how to comment. At the bottom on any post you will see something like this
North Liberty Iowa Library
blah blah What a great idea. We need to pass this on and let the idea spread.

Just click on the "comment".
That will take you to something like this
Ok, so that didn't work. I could cut and paste to a word document, but not to here. Anyway, once you click on the comment it takes you to another screen where you just start typing your comment and you can see the other comments as well. Once you've typed your comment you must put in the squiggle letters that you see (this is to prevent spammers from leaving comments). Then you can either put your email and password (I don't see these) and hit publish or hit anonymous and hit publish. Either way the comment then goes to my email for moderation before being published. If you do anonymous it would be helpful to us if you left you name in the comment, but you don't have to.

You're at the Right Place
I understand this blogspot has been given out to a few people who might be interested in following our travels this summer. If you recognize this handsome man then you know you're in the right spot.

For the past few weeks I've just been flapping my fingers on this keyboard and trying to learn all the ins and outs. But I was thinking if you're just peeking in you might think you're in the wrong spot. Anyway, the travel blog will begin when we being travelling in late May. You're certainly welcome to look at the whole blog..it is public after all, but it's probably not too interesting if you're looking for travel pictures and such. Please feel free to make comments. Just put your email address and password (I can't see your password)where indicated then it will come to our email address for moderation before being posted.
In the meantime, I'll just continue to meet new folks in the blogsphere and have a little fun.

Journaling
I am so not a journaling person. I look at others doing the blog thing and they are so enjoying it. I guess I really set this site up to keep family and friends informed of our travels and we're not travelling yet.
This weekend we worked more on getting the rv ready for travels and getting the house ready to leave. Got the flower beds weeded and the closet cleaned out in the guest room for the housesitters. Maintenance Man is working on making a screen of sorts to stop the rocks from destroying the tow. It looks like it will work pretty well. We will probably just use it on the Alaskan highways which are notorious for bad roads. Around here the mud flap pretty much does the job.
The front porch project is coming to a conclusion quickly. We got our "rough" inspection approval yesterday and now there are just a few things to finish it off then the "final" inspection. Once the construction guys are done then MM needs to attach some kind of mesh or chicken wire or something to keep critters from nesting under there. I might get around to doing some minimal landscaping or flowers, but the calendar is filling up fast.
This coming weekend I thought we had Saturday open, but just learned about an open house that I will go to for a couple of hours. Then Peanut is going to be "dedicated" on Sunday. Sunday afternoon we're helping our son and his bride pack up their house. We'll probably start loading up the rv with things that we don't use everyday. Lots of little details and lots of time to do them. Just trying to keep everything organized in my mind.
I did take some pictures of peanut on our workday and they are too cute.

I think she's saying "Come on guys take a break and come play with me."
Think that's what I'll miss the most in our travels - lil peanut. :(

Still learning
Snow's still on the ground so no traveling yet. Rolling home stays dry in the barn.
My indoor activities of late have been quilting. Here's one of the quilts that I helped a friend make for her sons. She did the tracing, cutting and ironing. I did the sewing.
Below is the pillow my daughter-in-law made. She wanted to learn one afternoon and she made the whole thing by herself. I just showed her how. Didn't she do a great job?
Here's the new space I set up for my quilting that doesn't have to be put away at dinner time. Pretty cool huh?
Anyway, I've now learned how to add photos to the text, sort of. I'm looking forward to finishing the quilt I'm working on now before the nice weather comes along and takes me outside.
While looking through pictures look who I found
Mimi's little peanut. Don't you just love little girls in their Easter dresses? And her smile never ends. Her rents try to tell me differently, but they haven't convinced me yet.

Whew
I've been reading other blogs and thinking "wow, that looks like a lot of work". Was I ever right! Just the learning curve alone. I feel like I've learned so much...and to look at it you'd think "what are you talking about you only put a picture up". Well, let me tell you that took a lot of work. But it feels good to have accomplished that. Gotta go search more pictures. Maybe one of me and my 'maintenance man'. We'll see what I come up with.
