Where Have I Been

Your Healthiest Habit is Practicing Moderation

You don't think that anything can kill you in small amounts. You believe it's all about balance.

You are willing to engage in unhealthy habits occasionally. After all, they are a lot of fun!

Some may criticize your moderate approach, but it's very sustainable.

You're into being healthy for the long haul, and you know that extremes only lead to trouble.

Photo Tag

What a fun meme. Tammy over at Crazy Mom with 4 Boys tagged me on this one.

This is Muffin crawling all over Papa. With the Christmas tree in the background I'm guessing around December 2009.

Now the rules:
1) Go to your photo files, select the 8Th photo folder.
2) Select the 8Th photo in that folder.
3) Post that photo along with the story behind it.
4) Then challenge 8 blogging friends to do the same!

Now for my dilemma - I don't think I can come up with 8, but here we go.

Wendy from the Rambling Vagabond

yup, that's it lol I need to make more friends lol Anyway, this is a fun meme please feel free to grab it and have fun.

Fun '60's Morning

This is so cool. I found it over at One Gals Musings and this is the
link you go to to create your own little person and scene.

I created a 1960's vintage gal enjoying a morning tea with one of the neighbors. Nothing to do, but gossip and wait for the kids to come home from school. It's one of those great warm days right after school has gotten back in session and we're glad to have some time to ourselves. I enjoy wearing capris even though a lot of people still don't accept women in pants. The heels kind of set it off so it doesn't look like I'm spending the day at the beach. Notice how hippy I was back then... women weren't expected to be thin ... curvaceous I think is the term. Also notice that my neighbor has one of those great new dishwashers. Our budget just doesn't allow for that, but I don't mind doing dishes anyway.

It's been fun to imagine myself back then, and sometimes I wish life was that simple again.

It's a Good Idea!

I got this from Harmony, what a good idea.

Blogging is really fun, but it's even more fun having people browsing your post. I want to share some simple strategy to generate traffic.

Bloggers in some ways do direct audience to their site by joining forums, commenting on others' posts, leaving comments in chat widgets, join traffic exchange programs, and even others pay for traffic. Spending so much time blog hopping is exhaustive so people find ways to lessen the load.

Why not try this sort of chain links. If followed seriously it exponentially increases the number of back links to your site. Here's how:

Try to make a post just like this one (can you say 'exactly like') and mention this process.

From the list of blog sites below remove the number 1 and move the rest in the list 1 step higher (i. e number 2 becomes number 1, and so on). Add your blog name in the 5th position. Don't forget to copy the links. (Here's my list-my site added in the end)

Pet Peeve Monday

I got this meme from Tammy's blog. I know it's not Monday, but better late than never. Her biggest pet peeve is people on the phone while driving. I've got to say that lately mine is people failing to use their turn signal. I'll be sitting there waiting to turn right but not want to turn in front of someone, then they of course are turning right but not using their signal. I think it's a waste of fuel for me to wait unnecessarily. What do they think the signal is for if not to inform others of what their plans are? What's your biggest pet peeve..... today? Don't they change daily? hehe

My friend, irl, Tammy tagged me for this 9 question meme. Looks like fun.

1. Have you ever been on TV? - No not that I know of.

2. Have you ever sung in public? - Does singing in church count? No solos though.

3. Have you ever dyed your hair blonde? - very long story, but yes

4. Have you ever eaten frogs' legs? - no

5. Have you ever received a present you really hated? not that I can remember.

6. Have you ever walked into a lamp post? - Probably lol

7. Have you ever cooked a meal by yourself for more than 15 people? - Does the shower for 25 two weeks ago count? Yes.

8. Have you ever fallen or stumbled in front of others? -Who hasn't? That would be 'yes'

9. Have you ever done volunteer work? - When the kids were little I did it all, church, school, girl scouts, boy scouts, yes I did it all.

What's Your Word

Talk about right on. This is really me. Thanks Michelle for leading me to this quiz.

Your Word is "Hope"

You see life as an opportunity for learning, growth, and bringing out the best in others.

No matter how bad things get, you always have at least a glimmer of optimism.

You are accepting and forgiving. You encourage those who have wronged you to turn over a new leaf.

And while there is a lot of ugliness in the world, you believe that almost no one is beyond redemption.

What Holiday Are You?

Harmony always has such fun things on her blog. I had to see what holiday I am.

You Are Easter

You are an optimistic, hopeful, and genuinely sweet person.

Sensitive and affectionate, you are easily touched.

You love nature, animals, and anything cute or cuddly.

For you, every day is a new chance - no matter what happened yesterday.

What makes you celebrate: Almost anything. You love most holidays and celebrations.

At holiday get togethers, you do best as: The peacemaker. You can prevent any squabbles that might break out.

On a holiday, you're the one most likely to: Remember to include everyone

Seven Random 'weird' Things About Me

I've been tagged by Danica to reveal 7 things that are weird about me. If I had seven things this would be easy, but here goes (you know there are a lot more than 7, but you'd have to ask someone else lol).

1. I hate cloths shopping (most of my cloths are very old)
2. I hate shoe shopping even more - has something to do with feet that are hard to fit.
3. This shopping thing must be across the board, because I hate grocery shopping too. Usually the pantry is empty and that means it's time to get more food.
4. I do buy my lottery tickets faithfully - haven't won anything BIG yet (if I did I'd stop buying them).
5. When I read a book everything else falls by the wayside - cooking, laundry, sleep (you get the picture).
6. I can't just watch TV. I'm either knitting, sewing, doing a sudoku or hand held electronic game - if not then I'm sleeping lol.
7. I'm addicted to blogging.

Now for the next part... tag 7 more bloggers - this might be hard.
1. Tammy
2. Mom of 3 Girls
3. Hailey's Mom
4. Harmony
5. Raising a Girl
6. 3 Sides of Crazy
7. if you're reading this and want to play along - jump right in.

Meme Down Memory Lane

I've been tagged by Harmony and Mommy on the Fly with this fun meme to come up with seven facts about me when I was a teenager. That's was a LONG time ago, but here goes:

1. I received a "Homemaker Award" in High School.
2. My first car was a Ford Falcon - my Dad got it because it had a working radio, but not for long.
3. I didn't get a "job" job til after graduation, just babysitting
4. Being the 7th child of 9 I was very protected and naive.
5. My friend, Sherry and I used to walk around town late at night and sing (her parents must have liked music from the 40's and 50's because that's what we sang).
6. I played Tripole at my friend Marie's house on Friday nights.
7. One of my favorite songs was "Only the Strong Survive" by Jerry Butler.

Now I need to tag more people...If you're listed, you need to post seven things about yourself as a teenager

The Book Meme

I was tagged by B Boys Mom. Here's the rules: Grab the nearest book. Open the book to page 56. Find the fifth sentence. Post the text of the next two to five sentences in your journal/blog along with these instructions.
Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST. Tag five other people to do the same.

The book I finished most recently was The Husband by Dean Koontz.

"Whatever strained toward the breaking point, it would break within Mitch. And though anxiety soured his stomach and clenched his teeth, he sensed that this coming change would not be a bad thing.

At the garage, the dark windows and the sun-fired windows mocked him."

btw it was a great book.

I tag: oops, Tammy already tagged everyone I would have. Gotta get more friends lol
