Mortgate Rates

With the current economic times I've often thought about refinancing our home to get a little equity to add to our cash flow. I've heard that the mortgage rates aren't too bad right now and you never know what tomorrow might bring. I still think refinancing would be a better option for us than a home equity loan. Still thinking about it... maybe we'll go into the 'wait and see' mode.

My New Favorite Picture

I have a new favorite picture of my girls. Don't you love their matching dresses? The sun was coming in just right to give it a softer effect. I also love the angelic profile look of Peanut. We got a few other good shots of the two of them on the same weekend. Probably get more this weekend. I've always got my camera ready.

Are they not adorable.

Exterior Shutters

Last summer as we were preparing to go to Alaska for three months we had lots of issues to deal with in our absence. One of which was the lawn mowing - and with that came the thought 'how do we protect our lower windows'. The thought of exterior shutters crossed through our minds, but we didn't have time. We ended up boarding them up so a stray stone wouldn't accidently break a window. Shutters would have been much prettier, but we weren't there to look at it.

Lots Going On

Lots going on lately. Last night I watched the dvd from Disney of what to expect. I can't wait!! Next week at this time we'll be arriving at Fort Wilderness Campground.

I've been working on a cute little knitwit (it's a little knit doll) for Muffin. I had a cute idea to tweak the pattern a little and it's turning out adorable. I'll have a picture for you probably tomorrow.

I've also been making a few summer outfits for Peanut. I wanted to make her something, then once I had the pattern I decided I'd make several to save even more money lol. I'll have a couple pictures tomorrow of those too.

The plants in the garden are doing really well too. We had a slight setback on the hanging plant on the deck when we were gone over Memorial Day weekend (it dried out a little too much). It seems to have come back okay though. Tomorrow I'll do a 'Fertilize Friday' and update you on that too. Tomorrow is starting to look real busy lol.

This weekend we're celebrating a birthday for my dil. A little late, but better late than never. AND, I get to see both my girls... I'll be in my happy place :).

With all that going on I've also been reading a book written by Jillian Michaels from the Biggest Loser, "Master Your Metabolism".

She makes a lot of sense and a lot of her stuff was quite similar to my take on the Genesis Diet. That being to eat foods in their most natural state and cutting way back or eliminating processed foods. When you see it written down it's like a gentle slap of 'what were you thinking, of course all those chemicals are messing you up'. But, I like the saying 'when you know better, you do better'. I'm going to try to clean up my act. I'm already feeling better. See you tomorrow for picture updates.

Have You Ever Thought About???

Have you ever thought about having any kind of youthful "enhancements"? As I start to get older and am doing a little sagging and drooping I've thought about some of the options out there. Although I've never really thought about saline breast implants I know that it is on the top of some people's lists of "enhancements". One thing for sure if I was looking into it I would REALLY look into it. It's just not something I would do without a lot of research. I might get an eyelid lift at a later date, what would you think about doing if you were guaranteed success and if cost was not a problem? I'm hoping losing a little weight will take care of my other problems and we all know they make a lot of wonderful undergarments to help us along. Bottom line is growing old gracefully... not kicking and screaming - it's just not ladylike.

Final Day for Bidding - There's Still Time!

We have a car for sale on ebay if you know anyone that might be interested. It's a 1993 Ford SHO with low mileage and is very clean. No rust at all. Check it out and if you know anyone that might be interested please pass it on. Thanks.

The Heat Is On - Give Me My AC

Every year around this time we decide it's a good time to check the air conditioners in the car and motorhome. At auto ac compressor they have good deals on keeping things running. I remember years ago we took the motorhome to Texas in the middle of summer and swore that we'd never do that again. A few years later we made an appointment at Camper World to have one installed on our way to Florida. I don't mind the heat, but if you can't sleep then there is just no functioning the next day. My MM knows that if he's ever going to put up with me then he has to make sure I get my sleep.

I had to laugh on Memorial Day weekend, our friends met us to go into the rally together and Sue gets out of their rig in a sweat shirt and long pants (she was just about to go get on her wool socks. I was in shorts and a tank top. My MM doesn't care if it gets a little warm, Al on the other hand likes it cool. Isn't it funny how everybody's thermostat is just a little different. I don't like it much over 80, and I litterly melt in the 90's. So I definitely like to make sure the AC is working.

Relaxing Weekend

We had a great 'quiet' weekend camping at the Rifle River campground. Usually we have to take the one and only site left if we want to camp on the river, but this weekend we had our pick. I think it was because school is still in session and everyone is waiting for school to let out and go for longer than a weekend. Whatever the reason, we loved it. This campground has two levels the upper is much larger and had only 8 campers - the lower we like better because you can get right on the river(if you're lucky) and there were only 4 campers there (including us).

Is this not the most peaceful setting?

There were a few canoers on the river Saturday, but it was a little cool. There was also a storm later in the afternoon. Sunday there were a few too, but really quiet still.

There were 3 other campers on this level, but none were beyond us. Can you say quiet? You can see how crowded it usually is if you look at all the picnic tables. They really pack them in on a hot summer day.
