I'm a lucky lady who found the man of her dreams on a blind date, of all things, back in 1971. It was love at first sight for both of us. Here in the blog I refer to him as my Maintenance Man. If you know him, you know why - the man can do anything! The summer of 2008 we took the trip of a lifetime to Alaska. We have created this blog to keep our family and friends informed with pictures and stories. We have 4 beautiful granddaughters and one grandson. The most recent granddaughter was born 12/8/12 and I'm really trying to enjoy her more because you never know if she will be our last little one. There could be more, but you just never know. Could life get any better?
While waiting for warmer weather I decided to make these garden markers that my niece had in her garden in Alaska. Please forgive the photography - guess I was in a hurry at that point. Basically, I have plant markers in the garden that stand out like a sore thumb. I typed all the detail about the plant, name, height, spread, time of bloom - that kind of stuff then laminated it and put it on a marker. Because they are white they really stand out. These garden stones will rest on the other marker so I can still lift the stone and see the details without the white jumping out at you.
At this time of year the white markers really stand out. I still have a lot more to do, but this is a good start. What do you think? I loved the idea when I saw Wendy's. Thanks Wendy.
Those are great! It will add a touch of style to your garden (which I'm sure is beautiful already!) You'll have to post some more photos after things are blooming and getting greener.

Just adorable. They turned out great! I'd love to do this with my gardens. Though I don't know if I'd find nice rocks like yours.
How cool - they look great - nice job Aunt Judi!
Love this idea! You did a great job want to paint some for me?
Maggie tried to steal one of your rocks the other day, by the way....
